The Sharing of Bianca and Luca, White Helmets in Civil Service at Alito

Bianca Briosi and Luca Baldassarri, White Helmet volunteers at Alito, share the emotions they felt while following the students of the "SAY" project funded by AVSI-Uganda.

"On Saturday, February 17th, at the 'Alito Training Centre,' we organized a diploma award ceremony featuring 79 young people and adults from the Adjumani district (64 women and 15 men), including 37 South Sudanese refugees and 42 Ugandans.

The event was attended by the representative of the Ugandan Prime Minister's Office, the UNHCR representative from Adjumani, and Dr. Paolo Giambelli representing AICS. The students spent a month at the center, during which they attended courses in horticulture and veterinary medicine. Over this month, we built a wonderful relationship of collaboration, attention, curiosity, and exchange. Seeing the joy on these students' faces upon receiving a certificate that symbolizes the knowledge they gained during the training is a great satisfaction for us. More importantly, it is gratifying that this achievement provides them with the chance to improve their quality of life, that of their families, and their communities. Thanks to Africa Mission Cooperation and Development, and a hug to all the supporters of Don Vittorione’s movement.
