Christmas craftsmen, our best wishes
Wherever you are, whoever you are with,
We wish you to become a "craftsman" of solidarity.
This year will be a party with fewer opportunities for socializing,
which, however, offers us the opportunity to rediscover the authenticity of the message of Christmas.
It is God who becomes a creature and entrusts himself to a man and a woman,
able to offer them only a poor cradle, but willing to put their life on the line.
Willing to accept a mystery they don't understand,
but that they can touch in the flesh of a child who is born,
in the meeting with the shepherds who donate the fruits of their labor
and with the Magi who arrive in search of the meaning of history.
This Christmas 2020 reminds us more than ever that crises can be improved
only putting oneself at the service of the common good,
placing people who suffer at the center,
those living in need and making them feel we love them.
A love made in the manner of artisans, with the hands, with listening, with attention.
Let's try to build a better world together,
free from the devastating effects of epidemics
but also free from individualism
which prevents us from looking at the other as a brother, as a sister.
