Global Citizenship Education (ECG)

The expression ''Global Citizenship Education'' refers to the activity carried out in Italy, and in the north of the world, to raise awareness of issues related to development and to promote personal and collective awareness, active participation of all citizens to eradicate poverty and build a more equitable and just world.

Africa Mission-Cooperation and Development carries out awareness-raising and training activities in this context:
- for school children and young people, promoting awareness-raising courses in schools on issues of international solidarity; promoting intercultural paths to simultaneously connect children from nursery and primary schools in Italy and Uganda, based on active experimentation, laboratories and training projects;
- for young people, training them on the issues of international solidarity and on the particular situation of the population of north-eastern Uganda, promoting their active involvement so that they become agents of change and awareness-raising actions in the area, through training sessions and the creation of fact-finding trips to Uganda: ''Veni e Veni'' projects, universal civil service in Italy and Uganda with Focsiv, school internships.
- for all citizens, through the promotion of a culture of solidarity and raising awareness of the problems of north-eastern Uganda through the creation of a periodical ''Here Uganda-You too...Together'', promoting meetings/events/demonstrations in the parishes, in the squares, and by setting up and animating local awareness groups.

We also participate in initiatives, events and awareness campaigns promoted by other organisations, bodies and associations.
