The idea of drilling a borehole in Uganda in memory of her friend, Dr. Gabriele Torresi, emerged for Beatrice Bistocco during his funeral, where it was suggested to contribute "not flowers but acts of kindness."
In recent months, Beatrice has organized various initiatives to raise funds and raise awareness about the activities of Africa Mission. She has set up exhibitions, charity dinners, and social events, including one planned in Tolentino on August 4. Beatrice shares, "He always appreciated what I did. He was my teacher in school, later became my family doctor, and above all, a great friend. When I was in Uganda, I sent him pictures and stories; he was very happy about what I was doing. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to share everything because within a month he passed away in Sicily."
This sad experience inspired Beatrice to dedicate a well to Gabriele: "I have faith in Africa Mission. I've seen a serious group committed to doing good and moving forward with the project. It’s not easy, but they are very capable."
The fundraising effort is still ongoing, and Beatrice has set a few more months to achieve her goal. We are confident that with her dedication and determination, she will successfully realize this meaningful project.
