Youth empowerment program

Youth empowerment program

In recent years the number of young people without a job, both literate and those without a school education, has increased considerably. The juvenile part is becoming more and more aware of its abilities and does not accept a future in the middle of the savannah to graze the herd of cows. To respond to this problem, more and more projects are organized which consist of learning technical skills through professional courses accessible to many young people, without requiring a particular acquired school level.

We are currently involved in several projects aimed at this purpose:

"SKILL" (Support Karamoja Innovative Livelihood Learning)
Starte february 2018
Finished may 2019

SDF (Skills Development Fund) together with Enabel, Irish Aid and AM&CS proposed a series of professional courses to be implemented in 3 districts of Karamoja (Moroto, Amudat and Kaabong). Children are offered the possibility to choose which address to apply the enrollment request and later, after interviews, both technical training with lessons and the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge acquired are given.
