FOCSIV is the Federation of International Voluntary Service's Christian Organisms, currently it has 80 organizations operating in over 80 countries.
Since its creation in 1972, FOCSIV, together with its members, has employed over 20,000 international volunteers who have provided the poorest people with their human and professional contribution. It is a concrete and long-term commitment in development projects for social and health sector, for agriculture and food, for educational and training sector, for child protection, for the defense of human rights and gender equality, for institutional straightening.
Africa Mission – Co-operation and Development joined the FOCSIV in 2004, embracing its values and joining many campaigns. Since 2006, our organisation has joined the campaign "Abbiamo RISO per una cosa seria" (We've got RICE for a serious cause), which seeks to promote family farming in Italy and in the world.
In 2016 our organisations has actively promoted also "the right to live in one's own land" campaign, created on the occasion of the Jubilee of Mercy and proposed by the Italian Episcopal Conference, together with Foundation Mission, and the Italian Caritas, to promote and guarantee everyone the right to stay in their own Country, living a dignified life.
