Africa Mission-Cooperation and Development (AMCD) is a movement made up of lay Christians who commit themselves, according to their possibilities and availability, to bear witness to their faith through:
The interventions are carried out in the name of the Movement by the OSC Cooperation and Development (C&D), a non-profit association, founded in 1982 and recognized as a moral body with legal personality.
The organization is suitable for international cooperation and volunteering according to law 49/87 which regulates Italy's public aid to developing countries. Since 2015 it has been registered in the regional register of non-profit organizations and since 2016 in that of civil society. .
Registration in the Single National Registry of the Third Sector (RUNTS) is currently in the process of being registered.
IN ITALY
The AMCD headquarters is in Piacenza in via Martelli, 6. Added to this are 6 branch offices and 22 groups of supporters and friends present in 13 regions of Italy (Emilia-Romagna, Liguria, Piedmont, Lombardy, Trentino-Alto Adige , Veneto, Marche, Tuscany, Lazio, Campania, Calabria, Sardinia, Puglia).
The volunteers are mainly engaged in activities to raise awareness of the problems of developing countries, through testimony in schools and parishes, the screening of films, the staging of exhibitions and in fundraising initiatives, such as markets, charity dinners , solidarity initiatives
IN UGANDA
The AMCD Movement operates in Uganda through the non-governmental organization Co-operation and Development (C&D), registered in Uganda in 1982.
C&D has a headquarters in the capital Kampala and 3 operational offices: in Moroto (Karamoja region), Alito (Lango region) and Adjumani.
Most of the C&D activities take place in the Karamoja region, where numerous projects have already been implemented, both with association funds, private funds and financing from international organisations.
